The Ascent service offering was so complex that no one person could adequately describe who they were or what they did. This identity challenge was compounded by the fact that customers and prospects were even more varied – from major film directors and top recording musicians to advertising producers, broadcast studios, entities like the US Senate, the Mormon Church and even university athletic offices nationwide. Ascent executives engaged Moncur Associates to define and write key messaging for Ascent Media clearly articulating who they were, what they did, and why it mattered to customers and investors, then to produce a groundbreaking website to clearly articulate those messages to all of their disparate audiences.
How Did We Do It?
Utilizing our Key Messaging process, Moncur developed the written and visual communications that enabled everyone at every level of the Ascent organization to understand and clearly articulate what Ascent Media does, and why it matters to each of their primary audiences.
Next, Moncur created an extensive website powered by an advanced custom content administration system (CMS) to convey all of Ascent Media's capabilities online. The CMS made it possible to associate each of the different industries with the services and customers that use the services via the website. The content administration system (CMS) enabled Ascent to update not only content and images, but set the associations dynamically. It also designated information feeds throughout the site automatically keeping Ascent connected to their subsidiary sites and social networking efforts. The end result was a state-of-the-art communications platform that facilitated every form of online communication or marketing including Search Engine Optimization (SEO), social networking and email marketing.
